The Michael J. Dias Foundation is proud to share that Michael's House,  our intensive, spiritually based program that uses the 12 steps of recovery as the basis of the program, is both MASH and NARR certified.

According to their website MASH (Massachusetts Alliance of Sober Housing)exists to ensure and promote critical management, operational, and ethical standards of Sober Homes, as well as to promote technical assistance to new and existing homes. Our goal is to help create and foster a safe living environment for those with substance use disorders through an Alliance of Certified Sober Housing with empirically based recovery principles and practical standard.”

NARR (National Alliance of Recovery Residences) states on their website their mission is "to support persons in recovery from addiction by improving their access to quality recovery residences through standards, support services, placement, education, research and advocacy. We envision all persons in recovery from addiction having access to the recovery support they need to live happier, healthier lives. NARR values hope, compassion, respect, honesty, responsibility, and fairness."

Courtney Rex, Michael's House Program Director, explained the house first received certification from both agencies in 2015; and have been subsequently renewed for the last three years.

"We are not required to pursue these certifications, but the board believes it is important for our organization to be held accountable, and reflect specific standards in the field of recovery,” shared Rex.  “Recertification is required yearly. To attain recertification a foundation representative must attend a two day training, followed by a house inspection, completed by the each of the agencies."
